COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho – Mayumi Umezu shot a first round 2-over 73 to lead the University of Hawai’i women’s golf team at the Coeur d’Alene Collegiate Sunday at the Coeur d’Alene Resort Golf Course.
The sophomore from Waimea, Hawai’i carded one birdie and three bogeys in her round and sits in a tie for 24th place among the field of 100 golfers. Sophomore Hyeonji Kang was one stroke behind Umezu with a 3-over 74 and is tied for 34th.
Also competing for the Rainbow Wahine are Wendy Song (77, t-71st), Monica Johnson (81, t-95th), and Ting-Yu Liu (89, t-99th).
