For their 2021 success and their 2022 line up, the University of Hawaii-Hilo Vulcans, men’s tennis team is ranked 4th in the ITA Preseason Top 25 Coaches Poll.
The ITA National Ranking Committee votes on the ITA Top 25 Coaches Poll. The eight ITA Region Chairs form the National Ranking Committee, each of whom casts a secret ballot.
Recap from 2021 – The Vulcans won the first ever Pacific West Conference title, beating Azusa Pacific and Hawaii Pacific. They went 3-0 in PacWest tournament.
The Vulcans won the NCAA Division II West Region (2-0), and advanced to the NCAA Championships for a third consecutive season. They won a quarterfinal match for the second year in a row before losing to the number 1 seed. The Vulcans tied for third in the tournament.
The Vulcan men are ranked number 4 in this years ITA Preseason Top 25 Coaches Poll. Barry University is ranked number 1. They won the 2021 NCAA Championship, their 2nd in a row.
Saint Leo University (2) was next, followed by Columbus State University (3), with the Vulcans in fourth. This makes them the highest-ranked team in the West Region.
