As the reigning conference favorites, the University of Hawai’i Swim and Dive Teams will be returning to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation championships on today thru the 19th.
Swimming events will take place at East Los Angeles College Aquatic Center.
The diving events will take place at the Marguerite Aquatics Center.
The Rainbow Wahine are looking to defend their championship title after five consecutive wins. They will begin with an exhibition 200-medley relay today, February 16.
This impressive team includes Anna Kotonen, a graduate student, and Anna Friedrich, a junior member, of the MPSF first-team from last year.
Senior Rainbow Wahine, Daphne Wils, is back as the best diver in the three-mete and one-meter events. Wils has been awarded gold in both the one-meter and three-meter events in each of the past two seasons.
The men’s team has been striving for a positive return after coming up short of a win in 2021. Freshmen Tomer Goldfaden, and Milan Bukovics both won in Las Vegas last month.
They will make their debut at this year’s Mountain Pacific Sports Federation championships.
Junior diver, Timothy Gallagher, who placed first in the backstroke events last season and senior diver Max Burman who is a threat in both three and one meter events, will be returning to Los Angeles in search of more wins.
