The University of Hawaii men’s basketball squad has pulled out of the Diamond Head Classic game on Christmas Day.
The reasons they withdrew were attributed to COVID-related injuries and issues.
The original plan was for the ‘Bows to take on Northern Iowa at 10:30 am at the Stan Sheriff Center.
UH faced South Florida and Vanderbilt to start the tourney, both loses. The Warriors would then face UNI in a seventh place match up.
Before the Diamond Head Classic opened, Mate Colina, the starting center, entered COVID-19 protocols.
Christmas Day will see the remaining teams play with Vanderbilt and Stanford facing off in a championship game.
