Today’s game against Cal Poly at the Mott Athletics Center find the Rainbow Warriors undefeated in Big West Conference play.
The Rainbow Warriors are 4-0 in January against Big West rivals. Unfortunately the win against UC San Diego doesn’t count towards the league standings. The Tritons are currently transition into Division I.
The Rainbow Warriors have consolidated their roles since emerging from a pause due to the health-safety protocols.
Bernardo da Silva has played an important role in the low position, having missed six games due to a hand injury.
Jerome Desrosiers was able to record three consecutive double-double performances. Junior Madut has also been a major player at the point, off guard, and wing.
Madut averages 10.4 points per game in Big West play while turning the ball over only 1.3 times per game.
Kamaka Hepa, a Texas transfer, is averaging 8.6 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. Hepa, who is 6-10, is a rare matchup at the three.
He can post wings, shoot 3 pointers over shorter defenders and throw to cutters at the baseline.
