DAVIS, Calif. – The University of Hawai’i track and field team finished day one of the Big West Championships at UC Davis.
Hawai’i posted multiple podium finishes and qualified various athletes for finals in their events.
Freshman Lilian Turban kickstarted the day’s events as she finished third in the shot put with 43′ 8 3/4″ and earned the squad six points.
Sophomore Montserrat Montanes i Arbo took home fifth in the hammer throw marking 178’10” and garnered another four points.
In the long jump, it was sophomore Tierra Sydnor leaping 18′ 10 1/2″ to snag third place and another six points for the team.
