Six of the 12 All-Star positions were filled by Waimea High School Menehune the KIF Cheer Champions. The announcement of the Kaua’i Interscholastic Federation Cheerleading All-Stars was made Thursday.
Waimea High School, The KIF champion, went on to the Hawai’i High School Competition. There, the Menehune team finished sixth in the HHSAA medium division with 299.0 points. This was just one point behind Lahainaluna High School (MIL) which finished with 300.5. Radford High School was the winner of the division with 359.0.
Kyrie Linoz, the Menehune’s cheer captain, was selected by officials and coaches of the KIF to represent the All-Stars. She is one of three seniors from Waimea to be on the list. Shar-Lein Arbilera and Kahylie Rose Hepa are other seniors. Waimea High School juniors Kemanalani Martin, Maeani Arbilera and Hailey Ragasa were elected to the All-Star List.
Each team at Kaua’i High School and Kapa’a High School each added three to the KIF All-Stars.
Kaua’i High School Red Raiders selected were Samaria Kelley, a senior and Kate Nakamura and Janessa Parallag, both juniors.
Kapa’a High School Warriors selected were Jaylee Souza Yim, a senior, as well as Makenzie Cummings and Kayana Goias Jeves, both juniors.
