IRVINE, Calif. – The PacWest Conference announced it’s weekly basketball awards with senior center Abby Spurgin claiming the Offensive Player of the Week award for her performances against Chaminade and Hilo.
Spurgin, the Texas native, has had an otherworldly start to the year averaging 25.0 points and eight rebounds per game. She picks up her first PacWest award of the season, coming off season-high 35 points and ten rebounds against Hilo, coming in clutch with a three-point play in overtime to help the Sharks to a 2-0 PacWest record. Spurgin also accrued 18 points and eight boards against crosstown rival Chaminade.
She currently leads the PacWest in the PPG category and is fourth in total points despite playing the least number of games.
The Sharks run it back with Hilo this Saturday at Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium, beginning at 5:00 p.m. HT.
