IRVINE, Calif. – Hawai’i Pacific University had more than half of its student-athletes honored on the 2021-22 Academic All-PacWest Honor Roll recently announced by the conference.
The Sharks had 144 of their 263 student-athletes recognized by the PacWest for their academic achievements.
Student-athletes who achieve at least a cumulative 3.0 grade-point average, completed at least two semesters at their institution and participated in regular season competition in a PacWest sponsored sport receive Academic All-PacWest recognition.
The HPU Baseball team led the way in 2021-22 with 24 Sharks recognized. Women’s Soccer and Volleyball had 18 student athletes honored, while Men’s Soccer and Softball tallied 11 on the list.
TheWomen’s Tennisteam had all eight of its student-athletes who saw action this season qualify for the honor, to rank as the highest percentage of the roster among HPU teams.
The HPU numbers do not include student-athletes from Acrobatics and Tumbling, a sport not sponsored by the PacWest.
HPU student-athletes posted an overall departmental grade point average of 3.295 for the 2021-22 school year, marking the seventh straight year of a departmental GPA of greater than 3.10.
