Saturday night’s clash with the Cal State Fullerton Titans was a large white-out crowd at the Stan Sheriff Center. With a step up defensive effort by the Rainbow Warriors frontcourt, along with a career night from Noel Coleman, the Rainbow Warriors won the battle 72-55 with a dominate.
The Rainbow Warriors won, but in the beginning of the game it was tough. The Fullerton forwards drove the ball inside. Led by Titan power forward Vincent Lee made two thunderous dunks. The Titans were leading the Rainbow Warriors 15-7.
After losing three consecutive conference games, UH fans were worried about another loss. However, Saturday night was different thanks to the Warrior big men, who stopped CSF defensively and who put up points on offensive.
Noel Coleman, the hero of this game, was knocking down deep shots. Coleman hit four-of five from downtown. He led UH with a team with 24 points.
Hawaii scored 42 points in the second half in front of a large crowd, breaking their three-game slide.
