PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The University of Hawai’i women’s sailing team competed in its first team event of the season, placing 14th at the Atlantic Coast Championship. The weekend regatta was limited to just one day due to strong winds during the second half of competition.
The Rainbow Wahine made the long trek to the East Coast and were met by cold and rainy conditions on the first day of sailing on Saturday. Winds were 6-16 knots as the teams were able to complete 10 races in each the A and B divisions. The second day, however, proved too windy to race with winds of 20-30 knots with some stronger gusts.
