Wednesday morning saw the start of the 2022 LOTTE Championship in Ewa Beach at the Hoakalei Country Club
There are 144 golfers.
Only one of them is from Hawaii. Punahou and USC Trojans Allisen Corpuz.
Corpuz was one the first groups to tee-off at Hoakalei. The former Buffanblu made her third LPGA appearance in her pro career.
Corpuz started hot in Ewa Beach, scoring three birdies in her five holes.
A great start for the former USC Trojan, she knows she is facing the longest course on Oahu.
Corpuz was thankful for a strong front nine, as the winds picked up towards the afternoon.
The LPGA rookie finished her round at 2 under par. This was a strong showing in her home State, and she hopes to continue the momentum into day 2.
Australia’s Hannah Green leads the pack with a final 6-under-par score in the first 18 holes.
