WAIPAHU, O’ahu – The Hawai’i women’s soccer team capped off a perfect weekend at the Outrigger Soccer Kickoff with a 1-0 win over Nicholls State on Sunday at the Waipi’o Peninsula Soccer Complex.
The Rainbow Wahine (2-1) dominated possession and outshot the Colonels 21-2 but were able to score just once on a Krista Peterson goal in the 16th minute.
The ‘Bows came out aggressive once again, creating numerous chances early on before Peterson cashed one in off of assists from Kelci Sumida and Mia Foster. Peterson found the back of the net for her second goal of the year after Sumida took a pass from Foster in the middle and dished out a cross to the top of the box.
