The coaches of the Pacific West Conference have placed the University of Hawaii Hilo Vulcans baseball team sixth in their preseason poll.
The Vulcans were first in Hawaii Pod last year, having played Hawaii Pacific a total 22 times.
UH Hilo ended regular season play with a record of 13-9 and advanced to PacWest’s AQ Pod Series. There they fought in the Pacific West Conference for an automatic berth into the postseason.
The Vulcans lost to number 17th ranked Azusa Pacific. The Vulcans went 1-3 in the AQ Pod Series. Azusa Pacific advanced to the West Regional.
The Vulcans will open their 2022 season on February 4th with a five-game series against San Diego Christian. The Vulcans will play the Hawks Friday at 6 p.m. and play a doubleheader Saturday (3 p.m.), and Sunday (12 p.m.). Wong Stadium will host all five games.
