From now till the March Hawaii State Wrestling Tournament, the 2022 high school wrestling season will be in full swing. Starting with OIA wrestling this past Saturday.
These wrestlers have waited a while to get back to action. The state tournament in March 2020 was the last major meet.
This was just a week before COVID-19 shut down athletics, which ended up wiping out the entire 2021 season.
Even though no fans were allowed because of COVID-19 protocols, the OIA wrestling season opened. Round-robin matches were held at McKinley and Mililani locations on Saturday.
In about a week, the ILH will start their matches with no fans and athletes wearing masks.
The BIIF and MIL will also be getting started.
