The Minnesota Twins have traded for shortstop Isiah Kner-Falefa, acquiring him from the Texas Rangers. The Rangers will receive Mitch Garver (catcher) and Ronny Henriquez (right-hander).
Kiner-Falefa (26 years old) hit.271 last season with eight home runs, and 53 RBIs. He also had a career-high of 20 stolen bases.
Kiner-Falefa spent all four of his Major League Baseball seasons with Texas. He hit .265 with 16 Homers, 118 RBIs, and 38 stolen bases for the Rangers.
The Rangers strengthened their middle infield by signing shortstop Corey Seager ($325M guaranteed) and second baseman Marcus Semien ($175M) to long-term contracts.
Garver, 31 years old, hit.256 last season with 13 home runs. He also had 34 RBIs.
