Waiakea Warrior Dysen Park was as steady as ever. But Kealakehe Waverider Kevin Yamashita was two strokes better.
Yamashita, a Waverider junior golfer, shot a 3-under 69 at Waikoloa Village, on Wednesday, and won medalist honors in his first Big Island Interscholastic Federation tournament of the season.
Yamashita opened with consecutive birdies, and he remained bogey-free until the 17th hole. Kealakehe coach Justin Lee stated that Yamashita could have done even better had he not missed some opportunities.
