Skye Tadani, Kapa’a’s top girl individualist in the Girls’ lanes was the winner with a 178.67 9-match average. Jennifer Hayakawa, Tadani’s teammate, challenged Tadani with a 171 average. Kailee Gorospe finished the season with a 157.111, while Kailee Gorospe had a 157.111. Waimea’s Irish Oriente ended the season at 140.56.
Callum Meredith was the only boy bowler for Kapa’a High School and he won the top boys’ lane with a 228.333 average. With a 228.333 average, Shayden Peralta from Kaua’i High School was able to challenge him. Kylie Sasaki finished third with a 206.18 average. These three boys were the only ones in the KIF who could roll averages of 200 or more.
Peralta, who rolled a 225-game-high to tie Kapa’a’s Meredith in the KIF final, led the Red Raider men into a 2,539 win over Waimea High School’s boys. Richard Palacio, who hit 182, won the pinfall with a 1,805 lead.
Kapa’a didn’t have enough bowlers for team scoring.
Tadani, who rolled a 178 high, and Gorospe (who came up with a169 in the final game) led the Lady Warrior girls to a 2,249 win over the Waimea High school girls. Erica Borbos, who rolled a team-high 160, ended the night with an overall 1,870 pinfall.
Kaua’i High School didn’t have enough bowlers for team scoring.
The Kapa’a girls’ bowling team will have the complete KIF results. Keahi Bacon (136.67), Gorospe (Hayakawa, Tadani and Jodi Woodward) (119.444 Average), Rian Yamamoto (128.133 Average), and Rian Yamamoto (128.133 Average) will be joined at the Billy Tees Hawai’i High School Athletic Association Bowling Championships, at the Leeward Bowl, Oahu, December 9 and 10.
The KIF will send the Kaua’i boys’ team to join the girls. They include Aaron Juliano (189.5444 average), Peralta and Sasaki (186 average), Shayne Shibuya (186average), Justine Pagatpatan (12 average), Gian Panoy (152.222 Average), Raiden Ragasa (126.68) average, and Christopher Rosa (112.44 average).
Kapa’a’s Meredith has a 228 average and Waimea’s Jericho Gudoy has a 151 average. They will bowl as boys individualists in the state tournament.
