HONOLULU – University of Hawai’i senior defensive lineman Jonah Kahahawai-Welch is among a list of 115 players on the Wuerffel Trophy Watch List. The award is known as “College Football’s Premier Award for Community Service.”
A fifth-year senior from Kailua, Oahu, Kahahawai-Welch has appeared in 12 career games as a back-up defensive lineman and special teams player. He joined the Rainbow Warriors after a standout career at Kamehameha Schools-Kapalama.
Former UH long snapper Noah Borden was a semifinalist for the 2018 award.
