Hawaii Wahine volleyball team loses to UC Santa Barbara in the home finale

Visiting UC Santa Barbara ended the 10-match winning streak of Big West champion Hawaii with a hard-fought five set victory last night. This marked the end of both teams’ conference season.
The UH Senior Night was halted by the Wahine attack by the Gauchos. It took place in front of 3,305 people at SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center. UCSB also beat UH in California with a sweep on Oct. 22. They won 18-25.
Hawaii is now in the NCAA Tournament thanks to Friday’s conference championship against Cal State Northridge. In Sunday’s ESPNU selection show, the Wahine will find out where and who they play.
UH was 18-2 in Big West, and 21-6 overall. UCSB was second in the Big West with 16-4, and overall improved to 21-11.
Rowan Ennis participated in eight of 16 Gauchos’ blocks and had 12 kills. UCSB’s 16 kills were led by Abrielle Bross.
Brooke Van Sickle was one of three UH seniors who were honored at her last home match. She had 21 kills. Janelle Gong, defensive specialist, and Skyler Williams, middle, were also honored.
Riley Wagoner had 18 kills in UH.
