The Kealakehe Waveriders volleyball squad won their first BIIF game of the season Wednesday. It took five sets on the road against Keaau Cougars. The Waveriders two-match slide was stopped 25-23, 25-20, 14-25 and 17-15 in the five set battle.
The Waveriders (1-2), and the Cougars (3-3), will compete in the Kamehameha–Hawaii tournament. It is scheduled to start today and continue through Saturday.
The Konawaena Wildcats took to the road Wednesday and won their second victory at the Honokaa Dragons.
The Dragons two-match winning streak was ended by the Wildcats, which swept the Dragons 25-20-25-10, 25-11.
The Konawaena Wildcats (2-1), will next host the Kohala Cowgirls Friday, September 9th. The Honokaa Dragons (3-3) will play against the Kau Trojans on Wednesday, September 7th.

With a three-set win over the Laupahoehoe Seariders, the Kohala Cowgirls scored their third season victory Tuesday. The Cowgirls first sweep of the season was achieved with a 25-18, 25-7 and 26-24 wins over the Seariders. They now have a winning streak of two matches.
The Cowgirls (3-3) will face the Konawaena Wildcats when they travel to Kealakekua Friday, September 9.
Laupahoehoe (0-5), will face the Makua Lani Lions Tuesday, Sept. 6, in their next BIIF competition.
