HONOLULU—University of Hawai’i women’s volleyball head coach Robyn Ah Mow announced the final signee of the 2022 squad. The newest Rainbow Wahine is junior transfer Kennedi Evans, a 6-2 middle blocker who has two years of eligibility left after beginning her collegiate career at Utah.
Evans, a native of Twin Falls, Idaho, played her full freshman year for the Utes in 2018 but redshirted in 2019. In the Covid-season of 2020, she played in 17 matches and last year, started Utah’s first 16 matches before suffering a season-ending injury. She was leading the Utes with 1.11 blocks per set (59 total blocks) when her season was cut short. During her career at Utah, she competed in 57 matches while recording 226 kills and 32.5 blocks.
Evans was a four-year letterwinner at Twin Falls High School. The middle blocker totaled 919 kills, a .430 hitting percentage, 40 service aces and 321 total blocks. Evans was a three-time league Player of the Year and was an Under Armour All-American nominee.
