IRVINE, Calif. – Chaminade University middle blocker Sasha Colombo (Milan, Italy/Colorado State/Liceo Scientifico Giordano Bruno HS) is the Pacific West Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for competition between Sept. 20 and 26.
On Monday at Biola, Colombo put down a career-high 18 kills on 28 swing with no hitting errors for a .643 hitting percentage. According to available records, she is the first Silversword in program history to record 15 or more kills and not commit a hitting error in a match. Colombo also had four service aces against the Eagles.
The graduate transfer is leading the ‘Swords with a 2.36 kills per set average and ranks fifth in the PacWest with a .310 attack percentage.
Holy Names’ Saupuni Mavaega is the conference’s Defender of the Week while the Team of the Week was Point Loma.
The Silverswords continue their crucial Southern California road trip Wednesday at Concordia University Irvine.
