HONOLULU – The University of Hawai’i baseball team fell 7-2 to Cal Poly on Friday night at Les Murakami Stadium.
The Rainbow Warriors (27-24, 18-11) lost their first conference series since the beginning of April. The Mustangs (37-20, 22-7) have now won nine out of ten of their conference series.
Both UH and Cal Poly were scoreless through three innings before an error to start the fourth allowed a runner to reach second base. On the next at-bat, Yorke hit a hot shot that ricocheted off of junior first baseman Jacob Igawa, scored the first run, and resulted in Igawa exiting the game. Two more walks loaded the bases, where Doss grounded out for an RBI. After intentionally walking a batter to get a force at all bags, UH walked in the inning’s final run.
